Meet Jimmy
Full Name: Jimmy Norton
Full Title: Principal and Partner
Description of what you do for the company: I am an owner of the agency along with my partner, Everett Brock. My responsibilities include business development, service of my existing customers, human resources, managing the IT needs of the agency, accounting and strategizing for the agency’s future direction. Our employees are the heartbeat of the agency, so I spend a lot of time making sure they have the resources that they need to do their jobs. If their email doesn’t work, I make sure it gets fixed. If they have a problem with a client, I step in to help. We have a great team at the agency, and I want to keep them happy.
Insurance agencies are built on relationships with our clients. We speak to them after devastating losses. We also speak to them after they buy a new car, a new home or start a new business. For many, we provide the human touch to a confusing maze of insurance company departments,
contracts and exclusions. They put their trust in us, and we work hard to earn it every day. My day consists of addressing those needs for my own clients and helping our staff to do the same for theirs. I also work to develop new business for the Agency. We implement marketing campaigns, reach out to potential new customers via email and phone, and strategize about ways to fine tune our message. I work to grow my book of business, and I manage a sales team to help them grow theirs. Owning an Insurance Agency is a hard job, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
What are some of your hobbies: Science-Fiction movies and TV, studying history, Tae Kwon Do.
Some things you like to do in your free time: Spending time with family. Reading, jigsaw puzzles, walking my dog
What is an interesting fact about you: My Father started the Agency with Everett Brock in 1992. I started working at the Agency in 1997 and got to work with my Dad for 15 years before he retired in 2012. It was a great opportunity to see a different side of him. Everett became my partner when I purchased my Dad’s share of the Agency in 2012.
